GA- wanted- any laying hens

I am looking for a 3 or 4 more hens or pullets and possibly a rooster.
Not too concerned about the breed or age. Prefer the heavier brown egg layers and something under a couple of years old. But mostly I am just wanting a few more pretty pets for the yard, so I will consider anything.

There is an ad on craigslist from a lady in Flowery Branch.
She's selling 1 yo RIR's for $5 each and she has 35 of them.

Her name is Julia, and I'm probably going to pick some up Sat.

I saw that, I am considering it too even though the wifey poo thinks its dumb to go that far for chickens. (it would take me all of an hour or less to get there.

Someone drove almost 5 hours to get a bunch of started chicks from me once and rooster-red drove a couple of hours up here, so heck, around Atlanta, an hour is nothing! Hopefully, they're healthy birds. If so, sounds like a good buy to me.

The distance is not a problem for me personally, but it is sometimes hard to organize a trip with the wifes disability. Not that I blame her for anything.

But it may happen still, just need to organize.

Well, I just found someone giving away 2 y/o layers in my town. The ad says they have 5 brown and 3 black and whites.
I am hoping the b&w's are barred rocks. Anyways, I left a message and am waiting for a call back.
