Hi everyone. I bought hatching eggs from Gabbard farms and was wondering if anyone else has tried hatched their D'Anver eggs and what the results were. I have heard some seriously mixed reviews on the company in general.

I haven't tried their D'Anver eggs, but we recently purchased Barnevelder eggs from them.

I was pleased with their customer service, and when our eggs arrived they appeared in perfect condition.
However, we did only have 1 of 12 hatch. I am not blaming Gabbard though - they did everything exactly like they said they would. The postal service however has changed their timeframe on priority shipping. USPS states that "in most cases" delivery is within 2 - 3 days - it took our eggs 5 days to arrive.

Based on my experience I would order from them again if they were closer to me.

One was found half crushed that morning, and it was full of this deep yellow nastiness. So, i candled that night. They were completely liquid inside and they stank. Handling them left a film on my hands. Bleck.

Too bad.......my own experiences with rotten eggs are they are blackened inside and almost pop because of the gas build-up. Never had any yellow bad ones.

DH wasn't too careful with the bag-o-rotten eggs and hit one on top of the trash can. It sounded like a cork gun firing. He did hit it with a bit of force though. So, rotten enough to stink but not to black yet.

It made me think that the yoke had burst in the shell to start with and was deteriorating fast. I am not experienced but I tested the most obvious bad ones by rocking them a bit. I could feel the liquid slosh inside. And not one had so much as a vein or blood ring. Dead from the get go I think.

They were delivered during the hottest part of a heat wave, so my guess is that they sat to long in a mail truck at some point and cooked. :/
