GAHHH!!! Runaway duck!

My sweet Daisy duck disappeared today

. She can't fly but she can climb. Somehow she ended up in our neighbors front yard. Someone found her and took her to the local Humane Society. We can't go get her until 11am tomorrow. I can't sleep thinking of my poor girl being away from her flock and her favorite blankie. She must be so scared. She has a pretty consistent night time routine. We don't know what condition she is in but are praying that she is ok and being treated well. Our poor Pekin is beside herself with grief and wouldn't eat tonight. Everyone cross your fingers that tomorrow will be a better day.

Also, it looks like they had some other ducks up for adoption...so maybe something good can come from this stressful day.

She made it home safe.

My husband went and got her so no new feathered friends came home with her.

I am glad she is safe but she seems to have a bit of diarrhea (more than normal runny poo). I'll be watching her to see if it was just from all the stress. Poor thing. I hope it doesn't negatively effect her laying schedule.

So lucky you did get her home safe. Its good to know in a way- that someone was caring enough to take her to the Humane Society- But then again..If they had left her be- she may have made her own way home and not had to endure the night in strange surrounding.

Anyway - she is home where she belongs now- and hopefully wont be wandering off again.
