If you are a poultry newcomer within easy driving distance of Gainesville, FL and are interested in learning how to keep your own backyard flock there will be a workshop offered at the Alachua County Extension office on Monday, November 21, 2011 at 5:30 p.m.
The Extension Office is located at 2800 NE 39th Ave, Gainesville (the road that goes past the airport).
Topics will include:
Breed Selection
Nutrition for Backyard Laying Flocks
Chicken Tractors
Requirements for Selling Eggs.
There is a $6.00 registration fee which will also cover the cost of the meal that will be served.
