I have heard that gamebird feed is great to feed show chickens so I was going to buy some. My feed store has two gamebird feeds. One has 15% protein which is called maintence gamebird. There is also a conditioner gamebird feed which is 17% protein. What is up with that?! I thought gamebird feed is supposed to be 24% or more which was why it is great. I ended up just buying chick starter and manna pro gamebird feed which is 24% protein but it only comes in 5 pound bags! Ughh should I still feed the low protein gamebird feed?

The gamebird feed that I feed is 30% protien. It is Purina gamebird startena
for growth and plumage. I have better results starting all of my chicks out
on this rather than the regular chick start & grow.

Yeah all of my gamebird feed is at least 28% and any conditioner should be higher, to best inhance plumage.

The game bird stuff I can get is 24%. I have my 10 week old pullets on it now. It was the only non-layer feed I could get in a crumble!

The line of feed I use has 4 different types of Game bird feed.
28% starter
22% grower
17% breeder
16% maintenance
