I have a flock including 1 rooster and 10 hens one of which is a game hen. Today while my hens were free ranging my dog broke loose and chased the game hen a few houses down into some woods before I could stop her ( my dog). The hen has a chick she hatched and has been protective of, my question is should she return to the coop and how long would she wait?
