I was thinking about letting one of my game roos in the coop with my RIR. the RIR are hatchery stock the games are stock that my grandfather started back before it was illegal and i just kept the line pure for show purposes. What would they look like would they lay a brown egg and as much as RIR or would i get a big bird with poor laying ability. would love a bird around the size or a little bigger than a game hen with the egg laying ability and temperment of the RIR. Anyone with pics and or input ? thanks in advance.

I had three pullets that were RIR X Games. They were long legged, tight feathered, long tailed, and a reddish brown. They were pretty in an elegant way. Sadly, I don’t have any pictures. They were rather good layers of light brown eggs, but they were on the smaller side. None of them had the temperment of RIR, they acted game.
