Lenny- Large Muscovy drake Unknown age: joined farm november 2020 has 3 muscovy hens (2 currently brooding) 1 mystory duck (pretty sure mulard, pretty sure lays eggs, attempted to rape lenny the drake)
Mundungus- Sebastopol gander 1 year old, joined farm june 2020 - has 1 female goose and flock of pekin ducks he adores
We have, 5 muscovies, 1 mutt mystery duck, 8 pekin hens 2 pekin drakes, 1 gander 1 goose, 25+ chickens Coop 60x20 feet split into 3 stalls 2 stalls duck goose open mix, and 1 stall chicken + muscovy. Free range during the day on 1.5+ acres
The main characters in this story are Lenny and Mundungus, our 2 biggest birds. Both are 16-19 lbs.
Lenny the drake has got it in his head to chase the gander around. We have been free ranging the birds during the day, and have noticed the frequency of the slow chase happening more and more often. They have gotten into 2 fights that I had to break up, and they are so evenly matched I don't know who would win the argument. Lenny is the instigator of the fight, every time now. Mundungus is scared of him now and does try to run away most of the time. Lenny landed himself in jail yesterday after the fight. They're both missing some feathers. Is there any way that they will stop fighting or am i going to have to rehome one? I am hoping the broody muscovy hens will hatch out more muscovies that might make him happier, but that's a 28 week process to get him more hens. I could get more hens, but I don't know if that will help solve the fighting? I am not willing to let one get seriously hurt by letting them fight it out.
