i have recently just wormed my chickens because I think they had gapeworm. There was no sign of it for about a week and now I noticed my roo shaking his head and gasping for air constantly this morning. Any ideas why they keep getting it?

Gapeworm is rather rare in chickens. Is it possible that they could have a respiratory disease instead?

I agree with Wyandottes7, most likely a respiratory disease. If your birds had gapeworms, your birds would be dead by now.
