a house, with a roof.
This story begins with six chicks. 4 EEs and 2 BOs. They were quickly named, and had lots of pictures taken of them.

Their names were as follows;
Prince (EE cockerel.)
Amelia (EE pullet.)
Georgie Girl (EE pullet.)
Rosalie ( EE pullet.)
Bella (BO pullet.)
Jasper (BO cockerel.)

They quickly adjusted to life inside a wooden box, with a plate that made them warm, yummy food, and water.

Most of them were just fine, walking around and talking, but after a day Jasper started acting off. He stayed under the heat plate, sleeping while standing. He kept his eyes closed tight, and he only opened them when he got pushed or picked up.

He quickly went down hill and by the next night he was barely clinging onto life. His poop had turned into a liquid white and his food and water intake quickly took a nosedive.

He was soon being held in a towel, being tube fed feed mixed with water. He was set down in his own little area, when almost right as he touched the ground he started falling over. He was quickly picked back up where he died, in the hands of a grieving owner. He let out a pitiful chirp and fell limp, discharge running out of his eyes, mouth, and nose.

His body soon was declared dead and his coffin was prepared. A sad viewing was held, although his siblings couldn’t attend due to the risk of a disease being transmitted. He was buried in a cigar box with a paper towel liner. He was placed a few feet into the ground and covered with dirt. His grave was lined with small rocks and a beautiful flower was planted as a memorial.

The chicks didn’t know what to do with themselves, especially Bella. But quickly life went back to normal. They were testing out their wings and Amelia and Rosalie were the best. They quickly learned they could perch on the sides of their home, happily chatting while the others tried to join them.

Soon all the chicks but Prince were able to get up. He had measly wings and his flight ability was just about nonexistent. He tried and tried and tried, but he couldn’t. The girls pitied him so they slept with him at night, keeping him company.

Soon they were taken outside for the first time, but they didn’t like it.

A well or so later they were taken outside and they loved it. They ran around in the sun all day and at night they would walk over to the door to the house, trying to get back in. Soon they had gotten into a routine, go outside in the morning, go inside at night.

Prince and Georgie were growing in feathers much slower than the other chicks. They still had baby fuzz at 4 weeks. Georgie quickly caught up with the others, and she looked like she belonged.

Prince, on the other hand, didn’t. He was still fuzzy at 5 weeks, and 6 weeks, but finally at seven weeks he was mostly caught up. He still didn’t have a tail. He earned himself the nicknames Prince the Tailless Wonder and Prince Fuzzy Butt.

In this picture we can see Georgie Girl blocking the only way outside from their traveling case. She was perched right on the door, and Prince and Amelia weren’t happy.

Soon the Garbage Pail Chicks, as I like to call them, were getting a bit too big for their small brooder. They were constantly escaping and taking naps upon the washing machine. Their lovely owner decided they could move to the coop now. So one day, instead of going inside at night, they were brought to a new place. They were put in their coop and they soon found the roost. They happily roosted that night and many nights after that.

Prince the tailless wonder however, still didn’t have a tail. He still had a fuzzy butt at 12 weeks.

But after he got fed up of being picked on for his taillessness, he started growing one. It’s currently still small at 13 weeks, but it’s there. We still call him Prince Fuzzy butt because he has a very fuzzy butt after all.
