I have 5 Golden Comet hens that free range on 5 acres (field, lawn, stream bank) most of the day. Last summer a 4' fence around our large vegetable garden deterred them. Not this spring! With reluctance and not wanting to replace the beautiful fencing DH installed last year, I decided to clip their wings per the learning center instructions on BYC. Well, last night at dusk I went out to put them in the coop and where should all five be? The garden. AAARG. Anyone else had flying wing clipped chickens?

I clipped the chickens wings last year with the same result. I had a neighbor told me that I didn't clip them short enough, but I didn't want to clip any farther. So that was the end of that. Good Luck
