I am so excited to get the coop finished (At least on the inside!). We still need to make the run, paint the exterior, and cut the run doors and such into the shed... but at least they are out of the kitchen and have tons of space to move around. I had an old garden/tool shed that we cleaned out - divided in half so I can still use the front half to store feed, bedding, tools, etc. The back half is the chicken area - they have 2 vents and 2 windows. I am thinking we might put a long vent on the back wall for more ventilation. I figured I would see how we were doing after this week on if it was needed. The run is going to be finished hopefully in the next two weekends. We have to make the ground level and dig up some old plants - should be nice though!

Here are some building pictures and the chicks in it!

Removed old wood that was not in that great of condition... cleaned everything out!

Temp roost for right now - we are going to build different ones once the run is put into place and the run doors are cut

That was a pic of them this morning through one of the windows!

Great use of an old shed! Love the look of it and how you divided the space for storage and the chickens. Those doors look quite sturdy, too. Well done!

Thanks everyone!

We still have to fix up some of the exterior - new framing in front, and the doors need a new latch on them, plus the bottom of one needs to be fixed. Overall not to much - a nice new coat of paint will make it look really pretty!
