G'Day Everyone
Just stumbled across this excellent site, such a wealth of knowledge out there!!
Thought I'd better register and boost the number of Aussies contributing to the site.
Just got back into keeping chooks after moving into a new house. Bought the kids 5 week old ISA browns for Xmas( by far the best present under the tree!) Been busy building their pen out of whatever I can get my hands on, I'll post photos when its complete.
I think keeping chooks is undergoing a bit of a resurgence in Oz, people are starting to realise that they are an environmentally responsible pet. They eat ya scraps, fertilise ya backyard and give ya eggs! I know of at least 3 other chook owners within a 600m radius of my place which is in your averege suburban area. Even managed to convert a few mates to the benefits of these "little tractors". A lot of home and garden shows on TV have also been plugging them as great pets for the kids.
Anyway, I look forward to getting involved with the forum and sharing my limited knowledge but unlimited enthusiasm!
