Hi chooksters and roosters
Just thought i would drop by and say hi. Since Dec 27th i now have 5 out of 6 laying. The heat has not affected there laying but we had 4 days of 110 degrees plus and i couldnt bear to see them so hot so i put them in the laundry in the air conditioning! Crazy i know but i have loved chooks since i can remember and didnt want to see them suffer.
A lot of people where i live lost there chooks in the heat.
They are so fussy and padantic -- they make me laugh. They follow me everywhere i go and get into everything i do.
I have a kelpie/border collie x dog who gets very jealous when i pick them up and demands treats when they are getting one, he is soooooo good with them and they learnt very quick not to go near his bones!!! The only thing is he loves eating there poop!, and there food when i am not looking.
When i come home if i have been out, i dont know who is the loadest when they see me, my dog or the chooks.
Take care
Polly

I live in S. Florida, and in the summer it can get in the low 90's. One thing that is good though, I live so close to the beach, and the breeze is helpful! Enjoy them! Hey, maybe you would want to get them a "diaper"? I just ordered one from Tess on the forum, because I have a Columbian Wyandotte that comes in and stays inside at night. check it out. Keep us posted, and most of all, Stay Cool!
