and I am curious what "doing shoes for a baby leghorn" means!?
2 of my little baby leghorns have curled toes. I was going to have them dispatched as folks I know here in Oz had said they wernt worth keeping.
Well I found this site, learnt how to use bandaids to make shoes for the shicks feet, and now they are running around perfectly and over the next few days their toes will straighten.

thanks for explaining about the "shoes". I also just read that curled toes in chicks is a sign of riboflavin deficiency (Vitamin B12). Try giving them raw beef liver (chopped up into tiny pieces) -- it may cure the problem.
