Hey Guys!

I was looking at Holderreads site last night and noticed their giant Embdens. I was telling my grandma about them today, but $105 for a pair of goslings is way out of my budget! I was just wondering who has purchased goslings from them, and if they have pics of what they got. Has anyone ordered the Bargain Gosling thing? Im wanting some geese, but in order to get some, I have to get rid of my ducks. It was pretty easy last time, I hope its as easy this time. Angie, I saw your post on your ducklings, maybe you can toss in some info!

Here is my pair of Pilgrims. I think this is the least expensive breed he has, lucky me they are what I wanted for my "starter" geese thanks to all the good advice I received here. They are 8 weeks old in these pictures (a week ago).

Edited to add: Not that I have much goose experience, but these guys have WONDERFUL temperments. They are very mellow, especially the gander.

They are gorgeous! I love the Pilgrims as well, they were a breed I was interested in. Im really glad to hear about the nice temperment, my ducks are just crazy, and I really miss my geese. They are really beautiful. Now it says the minimum order is 4 goslings, did you get 2 more or pick these up?

Geese are not NEARLY as messy as ducks. Ducks are the pits - geese are like a happy medium - messier than chickens but not half as messy as ducks. The thing is they grow big FAST so you have to be prepared to move them around alot (at least in my case) until they are where you end up leaving them....

I have 4 of the Embdens from Holderread's. I also have Embdens from MM and Metzer. You can tell the Holderread ones from a mile away. They are simply massive compared to the others. I love them to bits.

I also have a pair of Pilgrims and Tufted Romans from Holderread's.

Thanks everybody.

These pictures were taken during the first week that they were allowed to spend the whole day down at the pond and they were feeling quite grown-up and proud of themselves!
I'm glad they are such little piggies or I would never get them all back in the "electric fortress" (as DH calls it) at night.
