We have had 2 geese for around 6 years last night a animal took the male . You can tell the female is hurting how can we help her? My wife brought her in the house hoping she wont feel so alone..how many of you have been in this way. what did you do? how long until she feels better?

How old is your goose? how did the predator get to them? Geese are very bonded to one another I have even heard of geese dying from grief. So having her in with you can help. But long term I don't think will work with as messing as they are. Any chance of getting your pen and house secure and then finding another goose to keep her company might find one pretty reasonable this time of year folks wanting to scale back with winter coming.

Welcome to BYC. Geese generally form an extremely strong pair bond. I once witnessed an instance where a Canada gander spent 5 days guarding the body of his road killed mate. I would get another goose for companionship as soon as is possible. I would also strongly fortify their coop/enclosure as the predator will return - perhaps even during the day. Good luck in resolving this.
