I came to my chickens this morning and found a pool of what looks like egg white among the poops. No use taking a photo since it's clear and won't really show well, but it literally looks like the egg whites of an egg was pooped out. Is it a faulty egg somehow? We certainly had a lot of strange eggs in the beginning, but they are months into laying. None of the chickens appear sick in any way and 4 out of 5 have laid their eggs today, the last one is normally slower than the others. Without any knowledge I tend to lean towards that either it is a faulty egg or a discharge of some kind and not necessarily something to worry about, but I thought I'd check. I couldn't find any information online aside for red gel like blobs, but it's nothing like that.

It may have been a shell-less egg that broke inside. Have you seen any shell-less or thin-shelled eggs? If you can identify the chicken or if one lays it again in the nest box, I would try to give a human calcium tablet orally for a couple of days. Do you feed layer feed and use crushed oyster shell?
