I have a Jumbo Pekin that that was the sole surviving duckling of a predator attack (owl) about 5 months ago. I moved it into a fenced in pen and bought 7 more ducklings which it adopted. i assumed it was a hen from the way it took care of the babies, but I never heard a quack, and today I spotted the sex feather. Has anyone else ever had a drake act maternal like this?
