You cannot tell the gender when the squab is only 13 days.

ONLY EXCEPTION is if the hen parent is ash red and the cockbird dad is blue. Then male squabs will be red and female squabs will be blue.

Yep, that's right. Blue/black/grey is the same color.

SUPPOSEDLY..... If a squabs vent has a 'smiley face', it's a hen. If it's vent is a flat line or a frown, it is a cock. I have not tried this method.

I have heard this also but have not really tried this method. You have to do this very early on before the vent area is covered by feathers.
