Gender?

Pretty sure this is a Golden Sex Link but not sure of the gender. We were told "it" is a hen and have tried to do some research but we still are not sure. Help please?

To me it looks like a male with those hackles and I can somewhat see saddle feathers.

Well darn! We were really hoping it was a hen! We got him from a friend who was told he was a hen.

Yep, looks like a buff orpington rooster. A red sex link roo would be mostly white with patches of red. Will your friend take him back?
