Gender?

I'm pretty sure that these babies of mine are buff orpingtons (or crosses that look similar to them), but I am far less able to figure out gender.

This is Frita. She's about 4.5 weeks old (I think, I don't have an actual hatch date) - I think she's a she, based on my research (comb development / color, feathering, etc) - but it's so hard to tell!

Thoughts?

I believe it's a girl. She is feathering out nicely and doesn't have a raised comb. Very cute!

Yay!!! Thank you Nugget looks almost exactly like her (but smaller and with a lighter colored head) so I'm fairly certain she is a she as well. I am still on the fence with Waffles, since I can't tell what breed s(he) is (leg feathers, but was a completely yellow chick, no other coloring / shading)... and she is feathering out slower than the others.

Post a picture. Often when they feather out slower it means there a male

Buffs are by far the hardest ones to sex. Give it 2 to 3 months before you can tell.

Here's waffles. No clue on breed, but it's something with feathered legs.

That's a hard one. Your going to have to wait. I'm almost guessing male, but not sure.
