I have a sinking feeling the first and third may be cockerels, but I am inexperienced and unsure. Also what kinds of breeds might they all be? Thanks in advance.

Thank you! I’ve been enjoying them a lot, even though they are quite messy lol. Not as bad as ducks though (which I will be hatching estimated April 2) which I have a lot more experience with. Is there a particular age it will be more obvious/absolutely certain which genders all the chicks are?

I've been told when the boys start crowing and the girls start laying then you can be sure. No help, I know.

Unrelated: I see your dogs in the background, any tips for a new chicken raiser with two dogs that have never been around chick(en)s? One seems clueless and ignores my 3 week old chicks, which is fine by me. The other seems like she wants to play with them, but even a playful nip or pawing could do serious damage at this age.
I'm waiting on a muzzle (which arrives today) so I can test her on leash w the muzzle and see how she does. She's been really sweet through the pen and gently sniffs when I hold one in my hands, but I haven't let any loose running and fluttering around while she's in the same room.

My Doberman grew up with my African grey parrot so he was familiar with birds at least and knew they were off limits. I don’t trust him around the itty bitties, once they start actually looking like birds though and not fluffy nuggets I allow him to interact with supervision. My German shepherd grew up when I lived on 25 acres in the Carolina mountains and I had ducks, and also my parrot. He’d help me since nine weeks of age to let them out every morning and lock them up in the evening. Of course he had to be corrected kindly a few times when a puppy just couldn’t help himself for a friendly chase, I still supervise him around the birds but I am least worried with him. Your dogs sound like they are acclimating just fine, and you seem to be taking the correct steps.
