Could someone please tell me basic info about Cayuga Ducks, for example how many eggs the lay a year, when they start and stop laying, if they are best kept in large or small groups, etc.

I have one cayuga female and so far she has given me an egg a day.

Darn it.. There is someone on here with a bunch of really pretty cayugas that could help you out but i just cant remember her name...

Maybe make your title "Wanted : General Cayuga Duck Info" , That might get her attention

I have four. They are more quiet than Pekins but not as a quiet as Muscovies. Mine are highly seasonal layers--usually Feb-June or whenever it gets too hot...their eggs are dark colored when they first start to lay and get lighter during the laying season. Mine were laying daily for a while but tapered off. They are very cold-hardy and heat-tolerant. They get along with other ducks. I like mine a lot but have to sell to downsize my waterfowl before winter hits. I'm too attached to my muscovies & sebbies to part with them--so these guys need to go...

Well...whats that in my avatar...haha

I wish I could help, but mine are at that stage when they are fully grown, but havent given off eggs yet...they are beautiful thouhg, quiter than my khaki campbells, a little friendlier than them also.

I have two Cayuga females that will be four months old on 9/8. I have yet to see eggs even though there is "action" going on in the pool. Kind of bummed because the days are getting shorter now. If I can get them through the winter, there's always next year.

could you tell me a bit a khaki campbells aswell please, i have some aylesburys and i sell ducks and im trying to work out popular breeds
