No purebreds here just my backyard flock. I have a hatchery flock of mixed breeds that I love and I wanted to start a thread with other people who may admire the pure breeds but needed a place to share their flock stories without getting into hatchery versus purebed. I am no expert and have had my flock for 4 years and they are friendly, productive and a part of our family. I grew up on a hobby farm with chickens, exotic birds and a few different larger livestock so I have a little history.

Here are the newest additions at 10 weeks old. Three Mille Fleur d'uccle chicks we hatched out under our black bantam Twilight. The eggs are from My Pet Chicken. I have one rooster for sure and it is looking like the two lighter colored ones may be roosters

. I will have to find a home for two roosters if they are. I saw this breed as an avaatar on someones post and had to have one.

Share your stories and hopefully we can all answer each others questions and find a few new friends.

Yeah me too but I am losing hope as their combs are starting to get brighter like the darker chick. Oh well it was fun hatching them if they are roos we will have to find someone who wants a little Mille Fleur rooster. We have a yellow Japanes Bantam roo and the hens don't get the beat up, featherless back like with our standard rooster we had the first two years (very aggressive with the six year old at the time he went in the stew pot).
