I went out tonight, easiest time to catch them and separated the cockerels from the pullets, 10 weeks old. I may not have been correct in every case but I did the tail toss method. Fans for pullets, stiff for cockerels. 2 or 3 I was indecisive on.

Anyways, I have 2 roosters, a Crested Polish and a Welsummer. I have 2 chicks that look like siblings, very much alike, I don't know who their mom is but dad is the CP.

When they are old enough to breed can I breed siblings to each other?
If so, what would be the next step to breed more chicks exactly like these 2?

You can breed full-siblings. You will have to be on your toes to determine if such a pairing produces what you want. If not desired, then repeat breeding with that paring is not warranted.

The tail fan test would not work for me. Coloration or voice do work by ten weeks post-hatch.

Yes, someone said that it was a 50/50 chance and the ones I posted today on the breed/gender forum said 3 out of the 6 were cockerels. LOL Couldn't be sure of the other 3.

What is a tail fan test?

This link is where I saw it done. I do not believe it is 100% accurate but I think it gives a place to start. I don't even know for sure what age this test would be the most accurate at.
