genetics gurus.....silver laced question

I have 6 silver laced brahmas. I know these are still being worked on but I was wondering if you can tell that the chick is not dominant for the lacing by the chick down? I have 5 that have the classic chick color, chipmunk stripe etc, then I have one that it's color is more muddled, no chipmunk stripes. Could this be because this chick is incomplete laced?
