Actually a couple of questions on colors...
1. What color will you get when you breed a india blue that is split for white with a pure india blue?
2. india blue bred with black shoulder?
3. black shoulder bred to bermese?
4. black shoulder bred to a purple black shoulder?
5. india blue X Java?
Thanks

1. 1/2 blue split white, 1/2 pure blue.
2. all blue split black shoulder. Unless the blue happens to be split BS then you will get 1/2 BS and 1/2 blue split BS.
3. Hybrids split for BS. AKA spaldings.
4. All BS, it depends on which one is purple. If hen purple, then all normal BS with all males being split purple. If male is purple, all sons normal BS split purple and all daughters purple BS.
5. Hybrids.. AKA spalding.

A few to thing remember, Bs and pied are pattern not colors so are white eye, silver pied, so you can have more of these on one bird , plus these are in many colors.

like a Peach Blackshoulder pied white eye.
also a Opal silver pied blackshoulder.

Reason you can have over 200 different colors and patterns

If I was going to start all over again I would not buy splits, just because someone said it was split to this or that I would want to see the records kept and wing band numbers to match such records. So in the long run it will be a little more money but I would buy so called pure and not splits, a lot easier to keep track of this way. Now if you get pieds you can get three types White, Pied, Dark pied.
