Get over my fear….

I had a cockerel that was very aggressive to me. I re-homed him and was very happy to be able to spend time with my flock in the run again. I though I didn't have any cockerels left, but one sprouted out to be one. So far he has been nice, but has come into his hormones and not I'm almost panic when I go into the run and he comes near me. I still try to walk straight at him and walk with a purpose, but I'm still very leery. What can I do to calm my nerves?? Any advice??

Unless you really need a rooster, I would find another home for this bird. Why cause yourself anxiety? These birds should provide relaxation and fun.

The only reason you need a rooster is if you want fertile eggs. Anything else is personal preference. Since you have this fear of roosters, you probably should get rid of him. At some point he is likely to challenge you, especially since he can probably sense your near-panic. Why put yourself through that? Some people just should not have roosters, it's too stressful for them.
