I have been raising ducks for a few years now, I have mostly picked up what to do by reading articles, youtube videos, and this forum.
(2) How many ducks do you have right now? Right now I have 6 ducks, all different breeds, and possibly soon to be 6 accidental ducklings (don't want to count my ducklings before they hatch) that my buff duck is sitting on. Laying them was a group effort among the 4 girls but she decided she was going to sit on them for everyone.
(3) What breeds do you have? I have a jumbo Pekin male, a Blue Swedish male, a faun Indian Runner female, a Rouen female, a Khaki Campbell female, and a Buff female
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising ducks? Ducks are endlessly entertaining to me, I love watching them play, nap in the shade, and just interact with each other. I also like the eggs we get which I think are far superior to chicken eggs.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? raising children, playing Minecraft, home improvement
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I am a single mother of three kids under 12. We left an emotionally abusive family life with their dad/my ex. I'm currently going back to school at age 39 to become a nurse. We have 3 cats and hope to get a dog at some point
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? This is always the first site that comes up when I look up anything to do with ducks. I have been a reader for several years but decided to join as I have a few question that I can't answer by reading the forums
