Ive looked up care for quail and its about the same as chicks so I shouldnt have a problem. But Ive never had 25 at one time.Ive only had at most 4 chicks to care for..I have had a pasty butt before, do baby quail get this problem?
Also I think the only feed Ican get in town is gamebird pellets is this sufficient or is there something I should supplement with?

If all you can get are pellets I would grind them up in a coffe grinder or food procceser .. I dont think any of my Coturnix even teh jumbos could handle pellets this young.. They really are alot like taking care of chicks except they can fly straight up in no time so keep your brooder covered and also they arent very smart so watch out ehrn putting your food and water dishes in the brooder.. My 14 yr old nephew put the waterer on one..

OMG I didnt expect them to be soo small...
I mean I did expect smaller then chicks but these guys are tiny.I got 28 total and put them in a rubber maid bin(and I was worried my box would be too small). How do you water these guys? I used a crock with the chicks but that isnt going to work for these little things. I put in a lid with water in it(about half inch deep).

Put some rocks in the lid as they drown very easily .. i use the mason jar chick waterers and just put rocks all around the bottom .. My first batch of babies had one drown in less the ten minutes as i was looking for rocks .. Good luck they rae fun lil guys and sooo cute and sweet..

Thanks I got the chick waterer and put the rocks in it.The guy gave me pine shavings (brought them home late last night) I just switched them to papertowels to keep the water cleaner..I also got the gamebird food and blended it up a bit in the blender. They eat alot more then I expected too. They are just so cute.

They waste tons of food as well.. once you notice them starting to try to dust bath in the food bowl, get them a lil container of dirt or sand and they wont waste as much food...
