Hello I have 6 ducklings and 1 gosling they are all girls except for the Cayuga. They will be 2 weeks old tomorrow and I can't seem to get them to trust me. I have been holding them every day and spending time with them and giving them treats. When I walk in they come up to the bath tub (that's where they are right now but this week I am putting them in the box stall) and chirp but when I go to pick them up they run and when I do hold them they start chirping so loud and squirming . Some of them are getting better and let me hold them. I love them to death and I want them to trust me. The gosling on the other hand trusts me so much . She loves being held and will let me pick her up so easily and she will lay on me for hours. Do you have any tips on how to get them to trust me ? Also how do I get them to come when called and to learn their names ? Thank you ! :)

you need to stop putting them in your oven to see how well they will fit

They probably won't ever come to names, i mean i have a few that have names and others that simply don't, either way they don't 'come' like other animals can to names. Food is a huge motivator for ducks, i'd get some peas, lettuce and see if they'll come to you, ducks generally are not super fond of being held kinda roots back to their prey animal instincts.

In time they will learn your trustworthy and are a form of good stuff(ie; food) that said some may never be as friendly as others, personality does play a role but continued effort is still important.
