Getting my first maran, help needed!

I am getting a black copper maran, and am super exited because of how gorgeous they and their dark eggs are. I have two silver laced wyandotes that are 22 wks old and am getting a golden laced but have never had a maran. I would appreciate anyone's suggestions. I would really like to see pics of anyone's marans or their eggs!

Hi,
Congrats! There are a bunch of Marans threads here on BYC. Look for a BYCer nicked snowbird who really knows Marans. Do yourself and the breed a favor tho. resist the urge to crossbreed your Marans with another breed. You will lose the dark egg color if you do.

The small egg is the first egg my Cuckoo Maran pullet layed.
