So yeah I started on the chickens run tonight and I would have to say it went very well. I just threw it together not worrying about it being level but that actually worked well because I figure id need the slope for the winter. I will try to put some pics on.


Here you can see the run without the vertical midsections (installed later)

Here is a shot showing the lathe I used for security purposes beneath the side walls. Lathe is used when laying tile and was much cheaper than hardware cloth. The lathe was just less than $7 per 3'x8' piece.

Here is a shot with the vertical pieces of 1x2's. Sorry about the lack of quality. Gotta love these cellphone cameras!

Let me know what you think. Oh by the way the coop will sit on that wooden work bench. I can't wait to get it all done!
 
Yeah I figured with the way the economy and being a dirt, poor teacher I figured I spend less.

I can't take the credit for the idea of using lathe though, I got it from one of my older brothers.

I'll tie everything down and stake in the edges so it doesn't creep up and trip my kids. The stuff is sharp and can really scrape you up.
