getting Quail eggs to hatch

Hubby informed me a little while ago that one of the guys is bringing some quail eggs to him tomorrow for me to hatch, I don't know anything about hatching quail eggs, what do I need to do besides digging incubator out? How long do we incubate and what temp and humidity do I use, and anything else. Help please!!!

I set my forced air at the same temp as chicks 99.5 and I ran the humidity around 50-60 for the first 14 days and bumped it up to around 65-67 the last few days.

Also, do you know what species of quail you're getting? It does make a difference.

Quail eggs tend to be more durable than chicken eggs and quail chicks tend to hatch easier. They are less predictable though. Keep the temp the same as you do for chicks and I usually keep the humidity slightly higher than I do standard chickens. The species will narrow it down but even then quail have a range of about 4 days they can hatch over. They will all pop out close to each other and sometimes practically all at once but they could hatch at various days even if your temps are dead on. It gets frustrating waiting and waiting for them to hatch not knowing when. Just when you are ready to give up about half of them pop out over a few minutes. Not like chickens that one by one take 30mins to zip and hatch after they've been pipped all day.
