Crystal and Marble are my two silkies. They're over a year old, and Marble is full or crazy hormones. He makes it hard for me to get Crystal's eggs or to give them food/water.
There's really very little reason to keep him... I just feel bad because the two are so attached and bonded, even though it appears Marble is occasionally mean to her. They get stressed when they're apart.
Since their coop is rather small, it'll hold a maximum of two more bantams. I have my eye on sebrights and mille fleurs, or maybe another silkie, but I'm having a moral dilemma.
Moreover, I don't have a great way of getting said birds. I don't have a lot of money to spend on these things. Crystal has never been broody and doesn't care less about her eggs, and I don't have an incubator. Most hatcheries and feed stores have a minimum of 6 birds sold at one time. I found this farm that's sort of close that sells chicks, but I emailed them and I'm still waiting to see if they have a minimum.
More problems:
-separating the two
-getting Crystal to accept new birds
-what to do with Marble (lollipop farm? I feel so bad)
-I'm going to need a new brooder light... But that's not so much a problem as the others.
