I am not able to own roosters in my city. Of course as my clutch of 6 silkies grew I have noticed that 4 out of the 6 were roosters. I am very very sad but I have to get rid of them since they are now crowing 24 hours a day. I love them so much and was really hoping they would stay quiet (unrealistic, I know) so I could at least keep one. Tomorrow is the day the 4 of them are going to the farm. I am now left with only 2 hens, is there anything I should do with my hens to prevent them from becoming too upset? Also, isn't 2 hens too few to keep warm in the harsh winter? We are supposed to have a very bad winter this year. What should I do? Any suggestions? Thanks!

I am located in Gaithersburg City, Maryland. They have their run and coop with 2 nests for night. But if I have to I can make them something inside my garage for warmth. It won't help my roosters though, they crow all day long:-(
