getting silicone off glass lid?

I got a homemade Igloo incubator yesterday for $10, and now cleaning it up.

I had to take off the glass window, and it won't stick down again. It was adhered with clear silicone.

How can I get the old strips of silicone off the glass w/o breaking it?

oh, good idea! I bet that will work. An exacto knife or box cutter might work well.

there is also a product called silicone-B-gone...

silicone will not stick stick to silicone...so you need to make sure all traces of the old stuff is gone

I am thinking of using a different method to hold the glass on once I get the silicone off.
