Hi I am looking to get chickens and had a few breeds in mind. I was wondering if a combination of barred rock, RIR's and Easter eggers would be okay. I wasn't sure if the the Easter eggers would get bullied because of its smaller size.

I have an EE, and a partridge rock, and they get along just fine. It also really depends on the individual.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

I think you will be just fine. As said above, it really depends on personalities. Many of us have mixed breeds and they all do just fine together. RIR's can be a bit aggressive over all. Barred Rocks are a fairly docile breed. But if in doubt, then don't do it.

Good luck establishing your flock and welcome to ours!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! X2 Rocks and EEs should be fine together, RIR can be bossy but a lot of people do have them in mixed flocks.

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

X2 RIRs are more of a wild, aggressive and independent breed. Barred rocks are always going, friendly and curious.

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. The Barred Rocks are fairly docile but robust birds and should do fine with either the RIRs or the EEs, but I personally would not put RIRs and EEs together as RIRs can have a tendency to be aggressive and may well batter your EEs. Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.
