If you have been watching some of my posts recently, you will know I am getting my new chicks tomorrow! (Thursday) They will be (Hopefully both hens) A Naked Neck and a Cochin. So I will be asking a few questions about bringing them into my current flock of hens. This was just an update, but I will have pictures tomorrow for anybody interested! I'm so excited!:D
:wee:ya:clap:celebrate:woot

I got a naked neck last week! She’s super cute-looks like a mini ostrich. I mainly got her to annoy my hubby since he thinks they’re ugly as can be, LOL! I read that they’re very docile and great dual purpose birds!

I love them and think they are cute, you just gotta look past the point that it just has fewer feathers than all the other birds, it doesn't mean they aren't AMAZING! :D
We are going to be using them for just eggs and maybe even a show bird!
:thumbsup

Also, the one I'm getting looks JUST like that one except its feathers look more like an ameraucauna's.

I want to try the NNs for the heat out in the desert, I have heard they handle it much better. And I love the various feather patterns you can get.

I don't have to worry about heat because right now in Wisconsin my hardy girls are outside in the below 40°F weather. It's only hot in summer by us, and we just started winter
