I tried to get a good profile, but it's hard to photograph this one. It's name is Ghost because you think you see it and then it's gone! I'm going to try and figure out the sex of all my Silkies, I have 4 black, 1 buff/partridge don't know the diff there,,, and this white one.

LOL I have an idea that will happen to me! So far I have a feeling all my Silkies except for one of the black ones are hens, and that I'm really not sure of either.

I have found that pics are too decieving with judging silkie sex. So far I have guessed based on size and stature. I was not sure if I was right till the crowing started. I have found that the pullets look more round and are considerbaly shorter than the boys. oh and I look for wattles if they are beardless. PC calls the pullets Tribbles from star treck

I have 2 silkies a neighbor with about 25 and that one you got there looks exactly like the hens, so chances are it is. Also, only our hens have turqoise earlobes, the roosters all have mulberry ones. Silkie roosters also are larger, have long thin feather "threads" sticking out of the back of their heads and out of their tails, and of course, they have spurs spurs. Hens are smaller and have more a cottonball tail and no sticky outy feathers. I hope this helps, good luck. If this is a young chicken, just wait and in time it will become obvious what sex it is.
