Thought I'd make a thread of my own where I can post some random pics on my guinea coop build for fun. I just laid mesh on the floor of the run to thwart a 6 foot black snake that constricted Wildy, my Welsummer pullet. I laid a light gravel base into the mesh and topped it with 4" of sand. All mesh is secured with screws and fender washers. The birds are much happier. They wouldn't go into the run when it was just mesh for a day.

That should definitely cut down on the snake problem for you.
I’m just being nosey. Can you show me a close up picture of how you enclosed the tree trunk at the roof? I enclosed a tree trunk last year in a run and I’m not real confident in how I did it. Just want to compare.

Of course. Here you are. I will add a couple more metal straps to the other two corners of the frame. Not only does it frame the tree, it braces that half of the roof. I will add another natural post to brace the other end.

I was afraid of snakes and weasels getting in through the floor.
