We were gifted an incubator. We have just completed our first year with chickens. So I am a blank slate. The person who gifted it to us, thought he might have a friend with fertilized eggs we could try. He said he'd see if he could locate some. We do not have a roo for our pwn girls. If he is able to locate some eggs, how do I test this thing to make sure it's working properly? There is no thermometer, and he said we'd need one and to keep it at he thought 98°. It would be nice if this works so we could maybe try this experience before investing in a nicer incubator. Threads or article suggestions on where to read up on incubating eggs and the process would be great as well. TIA!
