Hey guys!! Gil’s so happy, enjoying her walks and extra love while everyone’s on quarintine. This evening I was putting some Shea butter on Gil’s feet (she’s just THAT pampered) and I noticed a bump on the bottom of her left foot... before making assumptions, having a panic attack or questioning my pet ownership skills, I know I should double check with you guys 🤣

Her left foot is the one looking not so normal to me, there’s a picture of her right foot that I believe is healthy. (See pictures below) Note her left dew claw was the one giving me issues in the past with bleeding and fell off completely not too long ago. I’m just worried about any kind of infection especially right now while there’s no vets open. Her foot feels warm to me but she’s not showing any sign or symptoms. I wouldn’t have noticed it if she was busy being spoiled, lol. No limping or seeming painful, she’s been totally acting normal, sassy and happy!

Thanks for any input❣️

As I’m sure you can imagine I’m totally worried. Enjoy the bonus pic of Gil taking a rest outside while I cleaned all her ducky blankets!! (Which are actually ducky drop clothes now - much easier to clean and can be bleached instead of just washed) I had to caption that picture “it must be hard work for Gil to watch me clean her stuff.” It was a little too chilly outside for her that day though and she was mad because everyone kept opening the front door and no one would let her in, lol!!

The emergency vet in the area actually has opened back up so I’d be able to go there if needed, assuming they see ducks. You guys know I’ll be the first to walk into the vet with my duck if she needs pain meds or anything else, she’s my bestfriend 🤣❤️

Hey there krista, always nice to see you post

Her foot looks scuffed, if you apply an antibiotic ointment like polysporin it should heal up, its not an emergency yet, keep it clean and it shouldn't get any worse

Bumblefoot is usualy caused by a cut or scratch that gets infected with a STAF infection

She might've scuffed it on concrete

Shes definitely spoiled

Hello!! Thank you so much, I was wondering about bumblefoot and the vet but great news to stick to ointment for now. Omg, the ducklings are too cute!!! You need some mealworms to convince them to sit with you. Gil has missed seeing all the pics of your sweet ducks!
