Girl and Oyster Shells?

Hi! I’m a new quail owner. I’ve had my quail for a year now feeding them crumbles with 25% protein to this day. I have recently learned that they need grit and oyster shells. If I turn them to it now will it cause any issues? They are both over a year old now. Is it better for their health to introduce them to the grit and oyster shells in their diet? Or should I keep them how they are now? They haven’t shown any problems with their diet but I just want what’s best for them. Thanks!

I would offer grit and oyster shells in limited quantities.

Offer it on the side. They will eat as much as they want. Make sure the oyster shell is crushed small enough for the quail to eat comfortably.
