Girl dressed like a guy?

Hey everyone!
We have a confirmed Rouen girl who lays eggs and quacks and up until last spring had female plumage. Then, she started to moult and seasonally gets a green head and a curly tail feather. She's still built and behaves like a girl, doesn't bother the other ducks in the flock. We just don't understand show come she's looking like a boy after 6 or 7 years of being normal... Does anyone know what's going on?

Hormones are messed up. As long as she is doing normal duck things eating drinking I’d say it’s part of aging. I have an EE hen who’s 8 and she crows now.

Ducks can go through a partial sex change, especially if there is no drake.

Hmm interesting
I was thinking it must have been because our last drake passed away a few years ago, but we've never seen something like this happen in duck... strange!
We've had a turkey hen gobble though, so I suppose it's not out of the question for feathers to change too
