I have a small flock of 4. They have all gotten along pretty well so far. My first hen started laying about 6 weeks ago. Now my second hen has started to lay and ever since she’s started to lay I have noticed a little wound on her comb. I clean it every morning and it hasn’t seemed to get any worse . Of course both hens like the same box, is it possible my first layer is picking on the second because she feels some ownership of that box? I assume that’s what is going on but also want to make sure that the wounds look like a pecking issue and not a disease of some sort. Any advice of if that’s common and how I can help them share better or if there’s anything to help her comb heal faster would be appreciated.

Put a fake egg in all nests, can help to 'spread the love'.
Funny thing, I used plastic golf balls as fake eggs and it worked for the first two, but they still choose the same box. Now they are treating them as toys and have them tossed all around there run 🤣 I guess I need to find something heavier.
