Girls prefer their old coop

My husband built a new coop for the girls I adopted in October. It's very nice and sturdy and safe. The girls hate it. I opened the coop up this morning and all 3 of the girls rushed out and started circling their old worn down tractor coop. This old coop is actually falling apart and is so tiny. The fencing is falling apart and its just seen its better days. Needless to say, they insisted on going back in it. Dear husband will not be happy after all the time he put in building that fancy coop!

I plan on trying to replicate their preferred tractor coop this spring and use sturdier materials. I guess the larger coop my dear husband built can become a summer coop, or possibly a winter cat house.
