Giving Treats

I have read the treads about everybody giving tablescrapes as treats ... my question is ... how are you giving them ... in a bowl in the coop? just throwing them in the run? I have 2 hens (1 is 12 weeks & 1 is 10 weeks) & have been giving them scratch & oatmeal but would love to give them other things as well ... also do you chop them up really fine or just throw it in? Thanks in advance for the help ... we are newbies

I toss all my scraps onto the compost pile.
All the chicks and chickens go crazy scratching through the food and grabbing the choice bits and running with it.
I also bring out a bag of boiled eggs and peel them out there (so they can eat the shells) and toss 'em.
They love chasing the eggs and pecking them to get at the yolk.
(You may have to slightly smoosh the boiled egg first if they don't know the yolk is in the middle.)
