So I’m new to chickens, honestly they sorta freaked me out, but my oldest daughter (11) started a snack stand in the front yard with the purpose of making enough to purchase chickens. I reluctantly began to research breeds and chicken care which has led me here multiple times.
We settled on Brahma’s and got 7 light Brahma pullets (hopefully), and a straight run Buff Brahma. We lost one chick a few days in but the other seven are getting big and move to their outside coop tomorrow.
Thus far I’ve enjoyed having chickens and even started a mealworm farm to be able to give them plenty of healthy treats. We look forward to having fresh eggs from our girls this fall.
I live in central Arkansas and have four children who I’m sure will lose interest leaving all the chicken duties to me.

Haha yeah I’m just getting to my first beetles we’ll see how we do with a big box of bugs. Lol
